REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION:

Board a) award the contract to Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. for the Roadway Rehabilitation Hurricane Michael (HM) Phase VI project in the amount of $3,265,624.61 and b) authorize the chairman to execute and modify the contract as approved by the county attorney.

FINANCIAL IMPACT SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Eligible Hurricane Michael expenditures will be reimbursed, any additional funds needed will be paid with Surtax money.

BACKGROUND:

Bay County’s roadway network was impacted significantly due to Hurricane Michael.  The Roadway Rehabilitation Hurricane Michael (HM) – Phase VI project includes 3.16 miles of road segments (Exhibit 1) that have been identified as being eligible for FEMA assistance for repairs. Any non-eligible portion shall be supplemented by surtax resurfacing funding.

 

On July 15th and July 22th 2022 request for bids for the Roadway Rehabilitation HM Phase VI project was advertised.  The following responses were received and opened on August 23, 2022.

The low bidder American Sand and Asphalt Paving was unable to hold their bid price over the 90 day period and withdrew their bid.

 

Staff has evaluated the bids and Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder.
